Releasing the Unattainable

Today I am releasing the unattainable expectations I place upon myself.

  • the spotless and organized house
  • the healthy home cooked meals
  • exercising 5 x a week
  • meditation
  • being the perfect daughter, wife, mother and friend
  • creating the most amazing piece of jewelry

.......the list goes on...

I declare that I am releasing the burdens I place upon myself with the side order of guilt and negative self-talk.

Today I will ask myself what I need?
Today I will listen to my heart; I will nurture and honor myself.

I am about to give myself permission to sit quietly with my mango, peach, raspberry smoothie and enjoy "Puss in Boots" with my boys!

Here's the recipe for my smoothie treat (serves 2) - Enjoy!
1/2 cup frozen organic mango
1/2 cup frozen organic raspberries
1/2 cup frozen organic peaches
3/4 cups apple juice
1/2 cup plain low fat yogurt
(sometimes I add less raspberries and more mango)  yummy!

I hope you do something special for yourself this weekend and everyday...Release those unattainable expectations, give yourself grace and nurture your sweet vulnerable soul!

  1. What a great idea. I spend so much time berating myself over what I haven't done or what I need to do I become overwhelmed with it all, constantly dissatisfied with what I do achieve. Currently I feel like I'm like a dog chasing my tail, or I have ADD!!

I not aware of anyone who doesn't spend time talking negative to themselves...it's time for a shift..I know I need to shift my focus on the daily achievements..Thanks for sharing..I think it's great for others to read they are not alone! :)

  3. Awesome! So courageous to name these pressures you've put upon yourself and to recognize the importance of letting them go. We all do it, and we should all learn to let me go.
